The material from which a plant stand is made is only one variable, though. The actual style of stand can vary significantly too, presenting you with many decor and plant display options. It is this great variation in size and styles that enables you to use height and shape so effectively in interior design, especially in wide open areas such as large entrance porches and lobbies, adjacent to sweeping staircases, and in spacious living areas with wide areas of bare boards or tiles.

Whether you choose a clay pot plant stand or any other container plant stand indoors, make sure you place a tray or dish under your plants to prevent water damage to your floors when watering.

I`ve what some would call a brown thumb. I can`t appear to keep a plant alive until it`s meant to be a hardy plant that requires little or no care. I don`t know why I`ve such a problem, but I do. Once I do find a plant that can survive my very own special brand of neglect, as you can think of it, I am overjoyed. That means I wish to hold that plant. However, if it is not me trying to kill it, it`s my pets or my kid. That means I would like plant stands to keep them up and out of the way in which if in any respect possible.
The level of winter protection required depends on where you live and how exposed your garden is. For example, in a sheltered city garden, you may get away with not protecting tender plants at all. Depending on your circumstances, you may be able to simply move plant pots and plant stands to a sheltered area of your garden. For plants that require warm environments that are potted or small enough to be dug up, simply move them indoors for the winter. Summer flowering bulbs can be dug up and dry stored in a frost free place. For larger plants and trees that are in-ground, you`ll have no option but to nurse them through the freezing conditions, using horticultural fleece and a heavy mulch covering.
