Fauna. Plant Stand. September 11th , 2017.
Plant plunks or stand often go in areas where you think must have something there but there isn`t any. These places include but are not limited to corners, near the foot of the stairs, and near windows. Now, it`s important that you don`t overdo it. You may feel like your home interior is empty due to a lot of untaken space, but you shouldn`t crowd it either. Simply put a few plant plunks in a few areas in your home so the plants can add some color in the interior and the wrought iron plant plunk adds to the design.
Small and delicate plants like a pot of Primulas and huge ferns may look great if placed in a sturdy metal plant stand. However, it is very important to make sure that these metal stands are huge enough to hold any type of plant containers or planters to protect it from sudden movements and unwanted damages over time. Such type of stands can be availed from a variety of metals such as brass and cast iron. However, they can be subjected to corrosion or rusting. To make it last longer to use, you need to apply a metal sealant or a metal spray paint to ensure protection and durability.
This is not really a stand but is used to pot the plant in a unique and enchanting way. This is one of my favorite garden decor designed with a back to back pair of giraffes that stunningly supports a basket weave urn with a jungle twist. It is a charming way to accent any part of the garden. It is matte finish in ocher and orange earth stones perfect for old-fashion or antique motif.
If you are displaying greenery, then a white or metallic color stand will suit it just fine. For flowering plants, you need to make sure that the color of the blooms pop. If that`s the case, you need to choose a metal plant stand in either a neutral color, such as black or white, or a complimentary color. If your flowers are yellow-colored, for example, they will pop against a blue or dark-colored stand.
Starting on the floor, with the taller plants off to the side, it is possible to put more plants on ever taller plant stands placed behind each other to create a virtual bank or wall of greenery and flowers which will not take up too much space in a room. There is a great variety of plant stands available, those that stand by themselves for just one plant, others that come in a set of two or three at various heights. Yet others come in spirals with platforms for several flowerpots, or in the form of a baker`s rack that holds even more potted plants. There are also plant stands that can be folded up for storage, when no longer needed and others that have wheels for easy moving. Depending on the size of the plant, as well as the kind of pot used, one also must consider how sturdy the plant stand is constructed. A huge fern in a clay pot needs a considerably more solid stand than a small geranium in a plastic container.
